Meet sujimimi!
Sujimimi is a mashup of our Korean names — a little nod to our roots and a big reminder that this is a shop made by sisters. We’ve always dreamed of a place where we could make things by hand, design our own pieces, and gather all the cute stuff we would love to give as gifts. Sujimimi felt like the perfect name: part of each of us, playful, and full of little moments of joy.
Making things has always been our jam — Suzie (Suji) sews, I (Michelle) do pottery, she knits, I crochet, and the second a new craft catches our eye, we’re all in. Our mom ran a boutique/craft shop while raising us and our two brothers, so maybe a love of making and gifting is just in our DNA.
People started noticing our creations: Suzie’s sewn items were so good everyone kept telling her to sell them, and soon my ceramics were getting the same reactions — starting with a tiny vase covered with playful strawberries. We’ve always loved making gifts and hunting down the perfect one to give, and Sujimimi grew from that love: a sister-run shop packed with handmade, curated, and just plain happy things we can’t wait to share (and maybe sneak a few for ourselves along the way).
Our Mission
We live for making people smile — whether it’s with something bright and whimsical, a little cheeky, or totally unforgettable. I create ceramics, Suzie runs the hand-sewn soft goods department, and we both can’t resist throwing playful prints and patterns onto everything we touch. On top of our handmade pieces, we mix in designed items and curated finds that fit our vibe: fun, thoughtful, and just a little extra. Every piece is meant to delight the receiver (and maybe sneak a grin out of the giver too), because life’s too short for boring gifts or anything that doesn’t make you happy.
The Process
Everything we make starts with our hands. I wheel-throw, hand-build, and slip-cast stoneware ceramics, then hand-glaze each piece. Illustrations are added freehand or via curated transfers, and each piece gets a Sujimimi stamp — officially part of our playful little world (and maybe too tempting to gift right away).
Meanwhile, Suzie drafts whimsical patterns for her hand-sewn bags, thoughtfully curates fabrics for each collection, and finishes every piece with a Sujimimi tag. We team up on special drops so our ceramics, bags, and curated items all share a common theme, vibe, and a pinch of sisterly magic. Even though we work from separate homes — Suzie in California, me in Utah — every piece is designed to feel personal, joyful, and unmistakably Sujimimi.
Let's be friends!
We’re not just selling things — we’re sprinkling little moments of joy, one bright ceramic or playful bag at a time. We love seeing our creations make people smile, whether it’s the perfect gift for someone else or a treat you just couldn’t resist.
Follow along on Instagram, check out new drops, or just hang out with us virtually — you’re officially part of the Sujimimi crew. Because at the end of the day, our goal is simple: make you grin, make someone else grin, and keep the world a little brighter (and cuter) while we’re at it.
